  1. Smoking is certainly not a sign of intelligence with all the effects of smoking that we know.  Smoking does act as a stimulant.  Unfortunately, it is not selective.  That means that you may be stimulated, but you may not be able to concentrate on the task at hand.  I would suggest that it would be unlikely but not unheard of.

  2. I'm sure there are.  Smoking (tobacco, anyway) doesn't effect your intelligence or reflect on it to any great extent.  But if you're asking this to find some excuse to smoke, or to keep smoking, there's no correlation here.  Just because some people managed it doesn't mean it's going to do anything for you at all, or stop you from getting cancer.

EDIT:  While smoking may work as a stimulant for some people, studies have indicated it can be indicative of lower intelligence in others.  http://www.straightfromthedoc.com/502267...

  3. I smoked when I had a 4.0 gpa at the University. Unlike the above comment,  I think there may be some correlation . I mean, cigarettes are a stimulant- perhaps some people smoke to help them stay up when they're studying.
