Question:

How common are street signs in Milan?

I'm going to Milan in a few weeks and want to travel, on foot, on a lot of the smaller side streets to get to certain sites. My question is, do all the side streets in Milan have street signs of some kind? If so, are they like they are in America? I've seen a lot of pictures and either don't see signs or notice that signs are posted on buildings rather than on separate posts.

And when I say "side streets" I mean little streets but I'm still going to be within a few miles of the center of the city. I will have a map, as well.

Thanks!

  1. As in all of Italy their are sign's on most of the streets but not all are on poles of their own they are sides of buildings now some of the small like what we call alleys will not have signs but about 90% of them will have.

Have a good time in Milan but I will make a suggestion to you keep a close eye on your purse or pocket book and if you have a purse make it small so it is easier to keep close to you and don't show excessive amounts of money if you put some money in your pants pocket and use that or credit cards would be allot better for you the only thing a bout credit cards you will charged international fee, but have fun thier are lots of sights to see just be aware of your surroundings I live in Italy for 13 years  and people are great food in fantastic it's slightly high but if you go to these little restaurants you get more for your money and alot cheaper too.
