  1. its more common with spaying than neuteuring, but not terribly bad, provided you keep an eye on the animal and follow all your vets instructions for aftercare.  any surgery carries risks, though.


  2. Age has nothing to do with infection. Its the sterilization. Also, the after care, which will be up to you. I work at a spay and neuter clinic which is non-profit, which means its affordable to everyone. The sterilization procedures are to be followed by STRICT O.S.H.A. guidlines. But aftercare is just as important. If your kitten has been spayed, or neutered, the incision MUST be kept clean during the healing process. I hope I have help and good luck!!!!
