I am moving into an apartment next week and there are 2 cats there. They seem clean and their owner never lets them out of the house...Do I need to be worried about having a flea attack?

  1. Its very common, especially in summer when its dry. Fleas have nothing to do with being clean. If the cats are allowed outside, the fleas can jump on them. If they are inside cats it probably isn't a problem.

  2. yes butthey shoudl betaken care of and that shouldn't be the issue. if it is contact the apartment and they will take care of it.

  3. no

  4. it is flea season and mine just got fleas without going outside but I have had cats all my life and this is the first time that happened.  if you are worried about it get some advantage, frontline or revolution from the vet which will prevent and kill any fleas for up to a month and then you can reapply it.  it is easy to use and costs about $15 or less per dose/one months supply. They are easier and safer than other flea treatments.  Honestly I don't think it is really something you need to worry about, even if there were fleas in the house they prefer the pets not humans and the bites are no worse than mosquito bites if you do get some.

  5. yea you should cause even though cats clean them self   fleas are still hiding there you should think about getting a flea collar but a flea attack? mabye

  6. Fleas travel on shoes and clothes from outside not only on pets. If there are pets in the house that are not under a flea regime to control the critters than u should bring this to the attention of the owner and make sure that this is done.

  7. it depends. yo usay they seem clean and never go outside but if you have a pet that does go outside the potential is still there.  i know a bunch of people that have major flea problems in apartments.alot of apartments either dont spray on a regular basis or dont use things that work so if your pet goes out in that enviornment you could get them. if not then you dont have much to worry about. i would just ask several people there that have pets

  8. We have two indoor cats who didn't leave our apartment for a year and STILL got fleas...you can carry them into the house on your clothing.

Just ask your friends if their cats have fleas, they'll definitely be able to tell you. If they have fleas your best bets are Frontline (the only OTC flea cream that works, according to our vet) and shake flea powder onto any carpets, especially in low traffic areas.

  9. cuz cats suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dogs are so much better, get a dog u would like them a lot better! lol, hope i helped :)

  10. If they don't go outside at all, no problem. My cat Moe-Moe, goes out occasionally, and he picks up a few, but it's really no problem. He is well worth it. Awesome Cat.

  11. if i was you i would still have my cat diped cuz you know the saying if you have a cat you will have fleas.  plus you never know if the people that lived there before had animals with fleas just to play it safe dip your cat
