  1. Very common, HCG doubles every 2-3 days. So you probably didn't have enough in hormone in you system at 10 dpo.

  2. Most women don't get BFPs until 13DPO and beyond because hCG levels aren't that high before then. But if you get a blood test, it may be positive before then.

  3. Very few will get a positive 4-5 days before af is due.  I believe it will tell the % of results on a test box.  The placenta just doesn't make enough hcg to be traced for home testing.  A beta Quantum test could pick up the hormones changes by having two blood test done 48 hrs from each other due to the hcg nearly doubling in measurements every two days.

  4. this is fairly common.

it is considered "rare" for a pregnant women to get a BFP at 10 or 11 dpo. According to an analysis of the charts of nearly 100,000 pregnant women, only 10 percent get a BFP on an HPT at 10 dpo.

in fact, the average FIRST day of getting a BFP among pregnant women is 14  dpo, and many pregnant women don't get one until later than that.  most women don't get a BFP until the day their period is due, on average, and some not until they are 2 or 3 days late.

Also keep in mind that 17 percent of women who are pregnant get a BFN before getting a BFP.
