I found just one Brookie in the U.K. in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I am from the US and I personally have never met anyone with this last name.  That being said, I looked it up on the online white pages for the entire US and there were only 59.  That is a very small amount for all 50 states, so I would have to say that it is a very uncommon name in the US.
