  1. Come to Sussex, UK, there are Hundreds of them.

  2. i don't dont about fay but my friend at school was called fahy! i live in england

  3. not particularly as a first name perhaps.

  4. Only a small part of the English speaking world but you will find one Fay in the Derby phone book.

  5. I have approx 50 relatives in the UK with the surname Fay.

  6. very very rare

  7. I have Fay ancestors who came from Ireland to the U.S.  According to the 1990 census, Fay ranks 2,277th on the list of common surnames; it is found in 0.006% of the population.   Compare that to Smith, which ranks first and is held by 1.006% of the population.

  8. I don't know about all English-speaking countries, but I've just checked the Electoral Roll and there are in excess of 200 people with that surname registered to vote in the UK, plus the same result for Faye (my computer can't count beyond 200!) so I guess it's not an uncommon name.

Quite a few in Aberdeen, Bolton, Birmingham and Cambridge
