It used to be quite common, but less so now. In fact I don't think I've met anyone under 50 called Fay, or Faye.

It's short for Euphemia. Maybe it's due for a comeback like some other names, like George or Victoria.

Ive never met any, i would say its not common, probably like a lot of uncommon names.
