How connect two phone lines?

I have two lines at home super cheap international rate in land-line #1 and a standard land-line #2.

I want to call land-line #2 using my cellular when I am out home, then call overseas using land-line #1.

I was thinking connect the two lines to a computer, receive the call and then be able to call using tones on the other line.

Any ideas?

  1. i am having a hard time finding a link for you on yahoo and google as it appears most of the results for "phone diverter" relate to skype devices...

you just need to install a call diverter inbetween the 2 lines, you call in from #2 into the diverter, enter a pin number, then are given the dial tone for line #1 to make outgoing calls...

  2. yes!!    take a look at GrandCentral.com....its a really nice service and its free too!!

  3. The easiest way would be to connect them with regular jacks with 2 conductor wire between the 2 phones. At one of the jacks, connect a 6v lantern battery to the 2 wires connecting the phones. You can talk, but can't make them ring.

  4. Counting incoming and outgoing lines (phone numbers), are there only two lines at the location? If so, you can probably use dial-up. If there are more than two lines, you out of luck
