Aww, I've never had one :( But so wish I could adopt one from somewhere! Hehe, that should be legal! They're just too cute, tweed jackets n all .......

I love old people, they have great stories. Very under appreciated. Unless they are they arsey ones who treat you like you just robbed them and think all young people below the age of 25 are trouble without having experience of that.

I'm a grand dad.  I have a set of grand twins (boy & girl) and a tag along set of grand kids, 7, 9, 11. They are on 'the other coast' (Oregon).   I don't wear tweed jackets.  I'm a t-shirt, plaid-flannel shirt, jeans, boots, biker vest kind of guy.

The 3 girls who used to live next door (moved after  8 years) 'adopted' me since their grand dads were both dead.

My wife was in Oregon for Christmas a couple of years ago (I couldn't take off for 2 weeks) and they had me over to help them celebrate Christmas.  It all started because the youngest wanted to come in and see my tree.  I didn't put one up.  Then she asked me what I was cooking for dinner.  I told her probably a couple of Bubba Burgers (preformed 1/3 pound hamburgers) and fries.  A few minutes after she left, her mom, and one sister were at my door TELLING me I was coming to their house for Christmas.

I never had any either, one died in the war and the other was separated from my grandmother and only appeared about a couple of times when I was six and then vanished again.  My children don't have them either, sad.  Maybe we should post on 'seniors' for some surrogates.........

Grandads are probably without question the best thing in the world. Mine was magic and my daughter idolises her's
