  1. The most important thing to remember on your serve is to get the toss PERFECT.  You don't have to be on the court to practice this.  At home when you're bored, grab a tennis ball and practic tossing it up in the air at the perfect height.  To make sure you're doing it right, let the ball fall to the ground.  It should hit somewhere around your front foot.  So far as hitting harder goes, that's an easy fix too.  When you make contact with the ball, shift all your weight from that back foot to the front foot (the one more towards the net).  In other words, step into the ball.  This puts all your body weight behind the ball, instead of utilizing just the strength in your arms.  Hope this helps!

  2. Try hitting against a wall for your ground shots. Take coaching for a few hours to learn the basics or getting your shots right. If coaching is not feasible, look around for tennis training videos.

  3. Get a personal coach and practice.  Use a good grip and read a book about it.

  4. thats ok if u dont have a strong game. it takes patience and time to develop a strong game. first, you should go to the gym and work out to increase fitness, flexibility and strength. then, take lessons with your club pro, or go to a pro tournament. u will see and learn that some people such as dementieva have crappy serves, but really good groundies. a strong serve is hit by

    1. using a continental grip to pronate wrist for least effort, maximum power

    2. bending knees

    3. tossing ball up high and hitting at the peak of the toss

    4. keeping your hitting hand bent by your side

    5. extending your arm for a good finish

to hit a powerful ball, watch fernando gonzalez play. but u should know that power isnt everything. u need to work the point out then use power to finish. same with serve. look at roddick.  his serve is probably the most powerful game, but at the same time it is useless because people can block the ball back. federer positions the ball and he can hit aces when he wants. that is a type of serve u need. granted roddicks serve is hella good, but federer's is better. thats why federer beat roddick 64 60 62.

now, back to reality. to get a forehand power shot, try taking the ball on the rise, or leaning into the shot for more power. to get a backhand power shot, try lifting the ball with topspin, and accelerate the racket. hope this helps!

  5. Relax. Seriously, just relax. If you're worried and tense, your shots need much more effort from you to have any spin or power. Make sure on your serve and groundstrokes that your grip, wrist, and arm are all totally relaxed. Your body and its rotation provides the actual power. Also, on groundstrokes, good footwork is priceless. Don't be lazy. Finally, theres no substitute for coaching and practice. So, join a camp or clinic and hit the courts every time you can. Good luck!
