The story about the little girl lip-syncing to a different girls song all because the other girl didn't have prefect teeth? Thoughts about it all?

  1. It's stupid.

  2. I am not surprised by the act of subbing the girl's voice.  (Sadly, it's happened in the U.S. (Milli Vanilli anyone?), too.)  The Chinese government is trying so hard to make themselves and their country look good to the rest of the world that they're trying too hard, it seems.

China is a communist country where its citizens have little say over what goes on in their lives.  The fact that the little girl and her parents were okay with the vocal plagiarism is indicative of the government's power over its people.  (This is the same government that killed all those innocent people at Tianamen Square without remorse.  Or dictates to its people how many children they can have.  There is no, "honor" in those deeds.)

  3. Because to Chinese, face is very important.

I felt sorry to both girls. I wonder if the cute girl actually knew it's not her voice being heard. Maybe she did but in a competitive world such as China, having a chance to participate in this event is considered honour to the entire family and ancestors.

  4. You're thinking of the samurai of Japan not the Communist leaders of China.

To them, "honour" is what the people owe THEM.  They're on top - they don't have to use honour with anybody.

Just whatever gets the job done.

  5. It is just a lie, all countries say certain things but do not stick to their emphasis. We are human afterall, and I thought the lip syncing thing was stupid.
