I've always wanted to know how much I could bench-press, but I don't live near a gym or anything. I also don't have barbells and am too poor to buy them. How could I estimate my max bench? I know that I can do 11 push-ups in good form with 40 lbs of weight on my back, (With 40 lbs of weight on my back I'm roughly 203 lbs), and they say you push 65% of your weight in a push-up, which would mean I could do roughly 11 reps of about 133 bench.

So is there any way to estimate what I could bench for 1 rep if I could bench 133 for 11 reps? I don't want a number to brag about or anything, I'm just wondering where I am in strength as I've lost a lot of fat and not sure whether I lost muscle or not.

  1. Yes I was wondering the same thing. The answer is kinda. Assuming your formula was right, you can search bench press calculator at yahoo.
