How could I get a nursing degree NOW?

I'm a 25 year old college graduate with a degree in business. I've been working for a financial company for 3 years now and am starting to realize it may not be for me. I've always had a dream of being a nurse, but am scared of how much it would cost me to get a degree now. With the cost of college tuition nowadays, I am afraid I'll never be able to afford to pay off the school loans I have now, let alone the ones I'd have for nursing school. Help!!!!

  1. Where I go to college my tuition is only $5-6000 a year for nursing. Where do u live? You will probably be put on a waiting list unless you find a private college but tuition is 3 and 4 X the cost of a community college. You are on the boarder line I cant remember if it is 25 or 26 when they don't count your parents income. You might get more free money then u think

  2. Well, the cost of a nursing degree today is less than it will be in five years.....

You really have two choices.  Get through the degree as fast as possible and borrow what you can't get in grants and scholarships, or take longer to get the degree by going part time and pay for the tuition (or most of it, anyway) as you go.

  3. I think you start off working at a retirement home. You earn a license praticing nurse aka LPN. Then go on to more classes to become a registered nurse. Must learn CPR. Blood collecting, changing dirty sheets. If any of those creep you out. Don't bother any further to be a nurse.

  5. Some hospitals will reimburse the cost of the nursing school if you agree to work for them for a set number of years. My friend has a BA in health administration and then decided she'd rather be a nurse. She got accepted at a hospital's nursing program and they are paying her tuition. She has a signed contract to work for them for 3 years after finishing nursing school. She has $26k in student loans from her BA so she was hesitant to take on more student loan.
