  1. Hi Luv!

There are several people in the "Barbie doll Kingdom" that restore vintage Barbies, but it can be pricey to do so (sigh). Here is one site you can check out just so you know in advance what it will cost:

Rerooting is a very time consuming task as you can well imagine, and painting is a pure artistic talent, so it will not be cheap...just thought I would warn you (smile)

If you Google "Barbie Restoration" there are lots of sites out there...but just thought I'd include the above link to get you started.

What a great son your Mother has to come up with such a thoughtful gift for her!!!

Take care and good luck luv...hope this helps!

    Warmly

    Cher

  2. That is a really good idea. but i am not really sure where you can find someone who does that unless you contact Mattel toys and see if they could restore your mom's old barbie dolls. I think they will and  charge you a bit.

I was just on the website yesterday, and they are reproductions of famous dolls from the 70's and 60's. They are less than $30 for some and they would be a good addition for your mom's collection.
