Question:

How could I make a single twin bed into a couch of sorts? (without carpentry or anything)?

I'm moving into a new room in my house, and I'm trying to think of a layout. I think it'd be cool for there to be like a couch in there, but there aren't any spare ones in the house or anything, but I have 2 twin beds (part of a bunk bed set). I don't want them to be stacked into bunk beds. But I was thinking that I could maybe turn the bed into a couch or something, like put a lot of extra pillows. I also have 2 other twin beds in my house. I was thinking I could take just the mattresses, and stack two, put a bunch of pillows, cover it with a blanket/comforter, and put lots of pillows and cushions on it. Any ideas? This would serve as a means of havin an extra place for people to sleep or hang out in my room, and make it awesome.

  1. You could get a "Daybed" cover which is tailored to make it look more like a couch and get wedge shaped bolsters to put along the wall to give it the feel of a couch.

The 2nd and 3rd pictures show the set up with bolsters.

  2. I like your pillow idea with a comforter. Large couch cushions should do the trick. What more are you looking for?

  3. Turn the bed sideways and use a wall as the back of your couch. Don't use the frame and set it right on the floor. Cover it with pillows and stack the bigger pillows against the wall for the backrest

  4. Push it up against the wall, and put pillows against the wall over the back, then get a sort of slip cover to cover it all and make it look less like a bed.  You may want to put two layers of throw pillows behind it, as it will be way too long for people's legs (for sitting comfortably anyway).
