How could I remove my braces without the same orthodontist?

I want to remove my braces because the insurance that I had doesn't cover me the treatment anymore since I'm changing jobs. I already paid a large amount out of my own pocket doing the usual cleaning and its killing me without insurance... I'm tired of these braces and I need them removed by another orthodontist but so far the answer I got was that I need a written permission... I was wondering if I could go to Mexico and have them removed there... cheaper and no need for the d**n written permission.

  1. You can go to whomever you want - to have them removed.  It is your choice.  But you've got so much invested now, don't you want to finish the process?  Take out a loan.  It will be worth it.  I wish I would have had it done years ago ~ no matter what the cost.  Be sure you want to throw what you've done so far away ~ before you have them removed.  Maybe you could find a cheaper orthodontist.  Check out the University where you live ~ they may have FREE care for people as testing specimins in the labs where they are teaching new dentists and orthodontists.  Check it out.

  2. Intelligent: Scrape by for a bit, pay for the braces, you'll probably save $$$ in the long run since you won't have constant dental problems

Dumb: Jump the border and have some mexican dude yank your braces off with pliers
