How could I learn to do either a backhand spring or a backflip by learning on my own? I have great leg and arm strength, but for everyone who knows how to do this what advice do you give me? Any and all advice welcome :)

  1. Start on a trampoline or some sort of soft surface so if you fall, you wont injure yourself.

Also, youtube has loads of tutorials.

  2. to learn mine i started off learning a back-bend kickover, then with a spotter i learned how to perform a backhandspring

    to do a backhandspring

*to get started "sit in a chair in the air" with your arms extended in front of u

*swing your arms back to give u momentum

*when jumping off, make sure your eyes follow your hands and you plant your hands firmly on the ground with your wrists at a 90 degree angle with your hands.

*swing your legs over and land on two feet (duh) with your arms again extended in front of you

common mistakes on a backhandspring are jumping too high and that causes u to skim your hands on the ground and land on your knees. also jumping too far out and landing on your head, or flat on your belly

from there your legs will get stronger in the places they need to be and for a back flip you start out the same way but instead of watching your hands, grab your shins into a tuck and watch the ground

make sure u hav a spotter with you at all times until you finally get the hang of it. ive seen some pretty nasty things happen to people without spotters

  3. Well you could do the "rainbow" with your stomach in da air and hand and feet on the ground  hten push your legs up like trying to somersault or google it

  4. i wouldnt even try you can get seriously hurt ask your dad to help spot you its very easy all he has to do is push your back up when u flip backwards, or i would suggest takeing your mattress off your bed putting it in the middle of you liveing room and get a bunch of pillows and just wing it but make sure u have a phone near by in case u have to call 911 good luck (p.s go on you tube and search how to do a back hard spring this will show u the basic technique and movement u need to make it work)

  5. try it on a trampoline first.

  6. trampolines helped me

  7. use a trampoline first - a big one. try jumping and slightly tucking your legs up first and slightly leaning back once you feel comfortable in crease the lean and the height. once you do that increase the leg power, the height and the lean until you fully complete a revolution. this is why you use a trampoline as you will fall on your back or something. work your way up until you can land standing. master that on the tramp then try gym mat then ground

  8. ya, on a very soft and safe surface. maybe with a mirror next to you? remember to spot for the ground.

  9. make sure you do it on soft ground maybe on a trampolien

  10. i dont know
