  1. seems like the champs come and go in waves,,, besides the R.Gracie years my fav time in MMa was like this......

UFC= Hughes,,Franklin,,Liddell,,Couture,,Silv... all of them wer the @#$%,,,top o da food chain

PRIDE= 2 guys named Silva,,Rampage,,Fedor,, those guys wer animals

now the ex-Pride guys are dominant and the UFC guys are on a slide,,, i think Chuck an Randy guna rise again but Tim might be done,,Mat said he bout done,,the Silvas look unstopable,,Jackson(haaaate him) is a beast,,Fedor runin from Randy,,,

  2. Look at Evan Tanner he's a great fighter.  Rich Franklin comes in and beats him for the title.  Then Silva beats Franklin.  Now noone has been able to beat Silva;  The new champion raises the level of greatness need to fill that role as champion.  In three years all the champions are going to be monsters in ten they'll be gods.

  3. its hard to repeat the glory ..and people gets older and weaker...once they get the title they build up their pride and once they lose the title they dont think they need to work as hard so it gets harder and harder to gain back what you once had when you had the title..sorry Ortiz your fame has ended =(

  4. Maybe its that Tito Ortiz just doesn't have the same determination as he used to have, or he let the fame of winning the title boost him up so much that when he lost he just couldn't take it The greatest champions in all sports have almost without exception lost fights at some stage in their career. But Maybe some of the champions were just "the best of the rest" and didn't really deserve the title.  Randy "The Natural" Couture is a good case to look at when talking about reclaiming titles. He's in his forties fighting and has won and lost titles but still doesn't give up. Maybe that's what the other fighters lack, a bit of heart and determination
