How could a dog get worms?

Well my dad and I think my dog has worms, because she is still not house trained and we are working on that but when I found some p**p on the floor it had like really weird looking stuff in it. My dad said it might be worms so I was wondering how she could have gotten them.

Eating flea eggs, outside, they can get them many ways. Look at the dog p**p and see if anything is moving..or bring a sample to the Vet, they will check it out and give you some pills. DON'T even bother with the wormers you buy at the drug store.

eating animal p**p, eating a dead animal, eating grass, eating dirt... as you can see it is a matter of ingesting something or another parasite carrier like mosquitoes(Heart worms) or ticks... these are just a few examples....

Some worms are transmitted to puppies by their mothers, before or after they are born.  Others can be picked up by ingesting fleas, or by eating f***s or other things on the ground that have come in contact with f***s, from another dog that also has worms.

Take a sample of your dog's p**p to your vet, to be tested for parasites.  Your vet will give you the right medication for the type of worm(s) that your dog has.  Don't use a de-wormer from Walmart.  Cheap dewormers can be worthless for treating certain types of worms, and in some cases can make your dog very sick.  Good luck.

Is she still a puppy?  All puppies need to be treated for worms when they are babies.  If she hasn't been, she needs to be.  And if she has been and you still think she has worms, she needs to go back to the vet.

Ooo they can get that from the soil, or poopoo from the other dogs.  Try not to let them smell or l**k the floor when you walk them outside.  Give them dewormer by instruction.  U can easily get it from walmart, petco, pet smart, etc~

worms:these are parasites wich live in the dogs intestines. they are extremely common:puppies are even born with them or even pick them up early from there mothers milk.

First- if you think she has worms...TAKE HER TO THE VET...

Worms can come from a variety of sources...some mentioned by others, but the usual culprit is fleas...fleas cause worms more often than anything else...
