How could a parent forget?

How in the world could parents forget their child on an airplane and for 40 minutes not realize that their child is still at the airport? What in the he**???

I know!  How do you forget about a child~!  Especially a little one.  Forty minutes is redicilious.   I could only see like 3 minutes top~!   If my parents forgot about me in the airport for 40 minutes i'd be pissed!  And they were going to PARIS!

I know I saw this.  Crazy.  I don't care how many children you have, it is still hard to believe you would forget one of them.  At least when you are seating yourself on the plane, it seems you would notice that one of your children is missing.  It sounds like they need a much better system.  I am surprised they didn't getting into any trouble over it.  I know that is is sometimes hard when taking a flight especially when you have a lot of luggage and children (I have 3).  However, I am more concerned with where my children are than my bags considering some of the strange characters you see in an airport.  I think they may have had their priorities wrong.

I know!  I can't believe it.  Shows you how really into being on time we are.  I wouldn't forget my dog for a minute if I were late somewhere.  Jesus Christ.

They did have 5 kids....I forgot my son at daycare, I was 30 minutes late picking him up.  I'm sure in the mad dash, it was easy to miss a kid.  Parents probable sat in 1st class...kids in coach.

It's still stupid...but they were reunited in the end.

Well they do have extras. Maybe they trying to cut on the cost of air travel. They are charging extra for bag. :D

My ex boyfriends family told me this story about when he was a baby - they all went to eat at Steak & Ale and then they left baby Brian under the table in his baby carrying device. HAHAHAHA. They had to come back and get him.

I saw this story earlier, and all I could think is that these parent's don't deserve to have children. It was pathetic that they even let the child out of their site for a second in the airport. They should be charged with neglect at the very least.

ya I just read that same article and thought the same thing didn't they count heads before they took off or the other siblings not notice ,that's just wrong any way you look at it she is three for God sakes her mom wasn't thinking about her for sure, but when they said fasten your seat belts on the plane she should have thought about her then!! at least you would think but how am I. glad all went well in the end for both the little girl and the family, be blessed

Well, he was a 3-year old, so he was small which would've made him easy to lose, and maybe presumed he was napping for 40 minutes on the airplane.

I have even seen some of the best parents forget their children. For real. Not for 40 minutes. I remember one time my mom was going to the store which is 4 miles away and she and my step dad got half way there and realized they forgot my baby brother. I guess she thought he got him and he thought she did. Vice versa. But my mom was terrified. They flew home and there was my baby brother in his crib. My mom broke down and cried. I don't think that made her bad because it was certainly not intentional but I know it scared her really bad. From then on she always checked and double checked and checked again. And if people think this can never happen to me then well your wrong. It can happen to the best of us, no matter how good of a parent you are. I have heard storeis like this alot. Not for 40 minutes though, I do question that. And I am not saying that this is right, however, I am not going to judge because of that, for I can't help but to think of my own mothers story.
