How could both the men's and women's 4x100 meter relay team fail to qualify for the Olympic finals?

How could both teams have failed exchanges and drop the baton. That's just embarassing!

This can be contributed to an inadequate coaching staff, undisciplined athletes, and lack of practicing relay exchanges.

Yes it's embarrassing. I appreciated Tyson Gray taking the responsibility for this failure even though it wasn't his fault though.

its just bad luck i guess, this really isn't USA's year at the athletics, we can really see that from the way they've been performing

didnt you hear, the chinese used an underage gymnast to wipe butter on the baton so the doping jamaicans could win the race. i think thats how it goes

I think the fact it was raining was definitely a contributing factor, look how many teams got disqualified, like between 1/3 to 1/2 of the teams were disqualified i think.

however considering US is one of the favourites and how good these athletes are, it's definitely an embarassing error even at amateur level.

Yes, I watched the replay on the news...I'm in NZ...couldn't believe it...US has always been so dominant....sad to see really

I think they were disorganized and didn't prepare properly this time.  I mean they even wrote USA in markers on their tracksuits

I saw that and thought, "How did that happen?" Both the men and the women on the USA team dropped their batons.

At least we swept all the medals for the men's 400 meter. YEAH!!!
