  1. Yes because it helps remove bacteria which can get into your blood  system. Its important to see a Dentist at least twice a year.

  2. In short, the bacteria that hide in between your teeth cause tooth decay (cavities) and an infection called either gingivitis if it is affecting the gums only and periodontitis if it affects the gums and causes the bone under the gums to break down. If your body has an infection caused by the bacteria it causes you body to be constantly trying to fight it off. If you don't floss the bacteria hangs around and causes your gums to bleed, which is not healthy.

This bacteria can be especially bad for diabetic people who don't heal well from infection and can cause other problems like preterm labor etc.

  3. There are lots of nasty bacteria hiding between your teeth.  If you don't get rid of them in a daily way, not only will your teeth decay and/or fall out and/or need expensive dentistry, but the bacteria will grow and possibly affect your health.

For instance, when I see the dentist, I have to have an antibiotic.  There is a bacteria, which if let loose in my system, could cause heart murmurs (I'm high risk).

It's all about bacteria and decay.  And boys like you better if your breath is good and your teeth shine.
