The word geothermal comes from the Greek words geo (earth) and therme (heat). So, geothermal energy is heat from within the earth. We can use the steam and hot water produced inside the earth to heat buildings or generate electricity. Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source because the water is replenished by rainfall and the heat is continuosly produced inside the earth.

  1. Yes, it could help Canada (and the US for that matter) by using geothermal, which is a clean energy, instead of burning coal or oil to generate energy.  Also it could help Canada from destroying their land with the oil sands.

  2. it is renewable but not in your lifetime, geothermal energy uses hot rocks and once they have been cooled you have to wait for thousands of years before they will heat up again. but it is fairly cheap and a good green souse of energy.

  3. that is correct, what is your question? Seems like you have it down?
