I'm going to go out of a rather short limb here and assume you meant 1956 or 57.  

Texas has a pretty decent birth index available at Ancestry.com.  I have an account if you want me to do a look up for you.  If not, you can sign up for a free two week trial and look it up.  Sometimes birth  indexes have adopted persons listed under their birth names and information AND their adoptive names and information, allowing a match to be made.

Some other things you can do are to sign up with the International Soundex Reunion Registry at http://isrr.net.   It's the largest reunion registry in the world.
