  1. First make sure there is no underlying medical problems. As some conditions make them pluck. make sure no lice or mites. If it is because birdie is bored make sure he has lots of different toys to play with all the time. Make sure yu interact with him on a regular basis. If he plucks in front of you do not pay attention as some of these guys are smart enough to associate plucking with getting attention. When he is playing with his toys or sittling quite or singing praise him to lands end when he is plucking ignore him. If it gets to bad where he bleeds take to vet as they do have remedies to help this from sedatives, collars, and other things. Good luck.

  2. First make sure he is not preening and is plucking, but Greys are known to pluck (especially with distress). They also need frequent bath/showers or they will dry skin, which could cause irritation and the higher probability for them to pluck. I do agree with the other response that you need to find the cause, because it could be related to health or boredom, etc.

  3. You can't stop feather plucking until you know the actual cause.

Here are some things you should know about plucking

  4. Plucking feathers is a sign of distress and boredom. Make sure he has plenty of toys and also play with him more often. Give him his favorite treat and comfort him.

Hope this helps & best of luck!!
