All of my friends took their test and said it was a breeze. So this morning i went in with confidence sure that i would pass. So i start out well, i got 0 points off the whole time. The test was almost over and i was anxious to finish so i pulled out of an intersection and kept going back to the DMV, but apparently i cut someone off at the intersection. I didn't notice the guy didn't even honk. So we got back and i was expecting her to go and take my picture when she tells me i failed. I got 5 points off and i could have gotten 25 off. So how come i failed with 5 points off and other kids pass with 24 points off. Its not my fault the guy was tailgating me all the way back to the DMV.

  1. cutting someone off meant you weren't looking.  You could have caused an accident.

  2. aaahhhhhaaaa yes. children children you gotta get over the old its not my fault game. your in the real world now. you failed because you made the mistake.

  3. you caused a Hazardous Situation by cutting someone off which is a instant failure and if you were in a hury to get back did you stop over the white line at a intersection or stop sign that is a instant failure too,its considered running a stop sign/light those sound like the two big ones and there is one more-a intersection were you don't have to stop but cross traffic dose.take your foot off the gas & cover the brake at a "uncontroled intersection" if you dont that is a.....you guessed it INSTANT FAILURE thats 3 for you but it sounds like you only did one

  4. You could have asked the Examiner all of these questions after your test, but I think you were too emotionally distraught at that moment.

There are minor errors and major errors in a road test.

You can accumulate a max. number of demerits for those minor errors (here in Alberta Canada it's 75, 10 demerits taken for most minor errors - anything over 75 and you fail the roadtest)

You can also make ONE major error and fail immediately. Those errors would be anything which is illegal or dangerous.

For example, you would get 10 demerits for not shoulder checking before a lane change, BUT if you cut someone off, and that was your only error, you would fail with  only 10 demerits.

I hope that explains it in more detail.

  5. yeah what she said!

  6. I would ask your instructor.

Other driver do not have to honk. It is your job to see them. I am sure you didn't get any points taken off for someone tailgating you. He may not have been so close to your rear if you didn't cut him off. It is also unlawfull to change lanes in an intersection...not sure if that is what you did but the way you wrote the question kinda sounds like it.

  7. There are things that you do that are automatic fail. Some of them are: running a red light, failure to yield, reckless driving, getting pulled over by a cop, getting into an accident, anything that would make the instructor nervous, etc..

Cutting someone off.... that's failure to yield and quite possibly made the instructor nervous. No wonder you failed.

  8. RELAX PAY ATTENTION READ THE BOOK AGAIN, PRACTICE.  GOOD DAY

  9. Failure to control your vehicle by not yielding is an automatic failure...........

You were too confident and forgot what you needed to do....
