How could i have this?

for the last four days ive been really sick with a sort of cold, body aching, sore throat, sore ears and swollen under my jaw and a bit of a cough BUT this morning i woke up and my one eye was stuck together and heaps of sleep so i went to the doctor and he said i had cojuctivitus. im confused about how i got it. i literally havent been out of the house for 4 days and i havent heard of anyone having it.IS THERE ANY THING ELSE YOU KNOW OF THAT I COULD HAVE?

when you contact conjuctivitis it can take up to 1 week to incubate.

Chances are the conjunctivitis is due to your cold, where the virus that caused your cold has got into your eyes. This type of conjunctivitis  is quite contagious. You should be very careful to avoid touching your eyes, and if you do wash your hands immediately and dry them on your own towel.

It will prob get worse for about 4 days, and then start to get better.

You can use a cotton bud soaked in warm salty water to help get the muck away from your eyes.

(ps, it may alternatively be caused by a bacteria, in which case it is less contagious, but good hygene can help it go away quicker)
