  1. You can try drinking a small cup of all natural carrot juice every day. You may not like it at first, but you'll get used to it overtime.

Also, I heard massaging your eyes with a warm towel helps relieve pressures, which can help improve your eyesight. <- the worse that can do is prevent your eyes from getting worse. =]

  2. Unfortunately, there really is not a whole lot that can be done.  Some people will say that the Bates method is effective and it is my professional opinion that that guy was a quack and his findings have no practical application today...

Depending on the cause of your poor vision, I suppose *some* visual training *could* help.

But if its just good ol' genetics that has brought on your refractive error, I'm afraid that short of refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK) there really isn't anything that can be done.  Even refractive surgery isn't 100% guaranteed; at some point you will still require reading glasses, which LASIK doesn't correct for.  And there is always the possibility that you may require subsequent enhancements if the first laser procedure doesn't take.

Eating carrots and vitamin A and leafy greens is good for the overall health of the eye.  Certain vitamins and minerals can help prevent certain diseases of the eyes, but eating all of the carrots in the world is not going to return your vision to 20/20.

And to answer your other question; no, corrective lenses do not make your eyes worse.  Your eyes will continue to change with or without glasses.  That's like saying that coloring your hair, makes it get grayer faster.  Not true.  Your hair would get just as gray if you didn't color it as it would if you were and the hair color would not speed up the process.  Lenses merely bend light to correct for your refractive errror (nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism)  Wearing the glasses allows your eyes to focus without straining, which is how the good Lord intended it to be.  Once you get glasses and you wear them, your eyes and brain get used to being able to see without straining and they prefer it that way.  When you take the glasses off again, your eyes now have to go back to straining so things seem blurry by comparison.  But I promise you that your eyes would change whether you wore glasses or not.  A refractive error is caused by the anatomy of the eye and wearing a pair of corrective lenses does nothing to change the anatomy, they only bend light.

  3. vitamin A(found in carrots) or contacts/glasses

  4. eat carrots like there's no tomorrow?

  5. I think you should go to a eye docter and ask them

  6. carrots...laser surgery

  7. well you could wear glasses or contacts!!! or get a laser thing and that makes your eyes much clear so you can see better..

  8. Step1

Try the Bates Method to retrain your eyes. Developed by Dr. William Horatio Bates in the early 1900s, this method is still popular today. Bates felt most vision problems were the result of eye muscles becoming lazy. His method is controversial, but some swear it has helped them. His entire program is online in the public domain

    Step2

Visit your local library to find titles that address improving eyesight without glasses. Ask for "Improve Your Vision Without Glasses or Contact Lenses" by Steven M. Beresford, David W. Muris, Merril J. Allen and Francis A. Young, or "Take Off Your Glasses and See: A Mind/Body Approach to Expanding Your Eyesight and Insight" by Jacob Liberman.

    Step3

Enroll in a seminar to improve eyesight for personal instruction. If you prefer learning directly from an instructor who knows the process, try signing up for a seminar that concentrates on teaching you various methods

    Step4

Eat your way to good eyesight. While there are no set guidelines or recommendations by the Food and Drug Administration governing diet and eyesight, some independent researchers suggest various foods that might help keep your eyes in top shape. ^^

If all else fails, you're doomed with glasses  ):
