How could i make a black accent wall look completely great?

Ok so im really interested in the whole hollywood glam looking spaces. i have a smaller one bedroon apartmant that i think would fit in so well with this design era. how could i make sure my black and white design idea comes out to what im looking for?( i want black as accent walls. not just decorations)

Be sure to either hire a pro to do the painting, or have the proper edging tools and smaller brushes for when you get to the corners.

We did a dark brown accent wall with a light yellow/beige on the other walls, and painting the corners was brutal! As hard as we tried, we splattered.

If you can, paint one wall and leave it with a lot of time to dry, then tape down the edge VERY carefully with tape that isn't so sticky it will remove the black paint. Test it out somewhere else.

Be aware that the black colour might actually make the space look smaller in the end, too, and will make the room darker (for things like make-up application, etc,).

If youre doing a black accent wall, all the other walls in the room should be a solid color, like taupe or beige.  If you want a totally glamorous room, get silver paint and start in a bottom corner making vine like curly cues that branch across the wall.add some black shelves with picture frames, and put your tv or dresser against that wall.  Thats a little more unexpected than having your bed against it.   Hope that helps.

black it self  isnt that hot  ...

  i would  add either gold   or silver  as a   border   maybe add lights     like good old holywood   show lights

I have 3 of my wallls white and an accent wall black. The accent wall is painted with chalkboard paint. I have a b and w poster on that wall an my bed. I have black furniture. I have a white bedspread with teal white and black pillows (you could also use red instead of teal.) I have teal curtains. My room looks really good so I'm sure yours will too. Good Luck.
