  1. Get your ends cut. It'll stop the damaged hair from completely splitting the hair shaft. That's first. Second, don't flat iron your hair every day. You could have the best hair moisturizer in the world, but that much heat everyday is never a good thing.

Every week, deep condition your hair. Try a pack of Olive Oil Deep Conditioner. It's about $1.50 a pack and you leave it in your hair for 45 minutes to an hour. It works like magic. Your hair will immediately feel different and it smells great, too. The entire Olive Oil brand is great and saved my hair. My ends were split so bad, I had to get a hair cut which cut about four inches off. The moisturizing lotion is wonderful. It, of course, moisturizes your hair and leaves it shinny and soft. While you're in that isle, don't forget the Oil Sheen. It will protect your hair when you flat iron it or blow dry it and it gives great shine without weighing the hair down.

And, get a leave in conditioner. I use Motions. It's a spritz and I put it in right after I wash my hair.

But if you insist on straightening your hair so much, you might want to think about getting your ends cut more than once every six weeks because by that time, they're already splitting the ends of the shaft. Buy some hair shears and when you some ragged ends, cut them off yourself. It's not a permanent fix, but it will help your hair out until you get to a salon to get the professionaly done.

  2. stop  straightening it everyday

  3. Get a good heat protectant. If you want a pricey one, you should get the CHI 44 Iron Guard, usually going for around 13 bucks. If you're cheap, get Tresseme Heat Protectant Spray in the red and black spray bottle. They both work really well and protect and moisturize my hair.

EDIT: They both sell these products at Target.

  4. Only straighten it every other day.

Trim it an inch every 4 months.

    Use deep conditioner.

    Dye it less often.

  5. You'd best get a trim quick.  Hair grows about a half an inch a month.  And you need to use a thermal protectant when flat ironing.  And maybe try deep conditioning once a week or every other week.
