How could nascar take a race away from Darlington because of low attendance?

Then give it to California and by looking at the fans in the stands, they have no one showing up for a boring race? Why not take a race away from California? Instead they give them a chase race next year.

thats pretty dumb i like darlington and it is more interesting.  i wish everything were not run by $ and politics.  but i must agree that is the silliest thing nascar could do put another ca race especially in the chase.

Because NASCAR is attempting to get more fans out in the west part of the country. I was ticked off when Darlington lost it's Labor Day race since I didn't like California that much. I love watching races at Darlington!

Politics my man. Unfortunately Nascar is no longer a sport of good old boys but now it's a BIG, BIG (And I mean BIG)  BUSINESS.

Because Nascar wants to be in that market and as much as we as fans hate it they aren't leaving for a while give it a couple years and when the chase race isnt any good then maybe it will go somewhere else but to that one guy The Rock aint getting a race back I would love it but it isnt going to happen mre likely Iowa or Kentucky

Politics - ISC wanted another race in CA and Darlington wasn't filling seats at the time, they didn't have corporate boxes, the track needed resurfacing, the garage area was below standards, etc.  CA had a new track with all the fixin's in the second biggest market in the country.  It boiled down to money and yet another NASCAR tradition, the Southern 500, bit the dust.

I've heard rumors that CA may lose one of its races and Rockingham may end up with a date.  Let's hope that NASCAR comes to their collective senses and makes this happen.

I agree, races at California suck. At least Darlington had good races. I also agree that giving a chase race to California is stupid. Not much can change in a race at California, especially the lead.

i have been to a Darlington Race it it was way better than a calf race.

Even though I enjoyed the race last night, I have absolutely no idea why they took a race away from Darlington and gave it to California.  The Darlington races are so much better than any race at California.
