  1. well they would all build muscle. Skipping ropes requires a lot of jumping. Hula hoops works the abs out. And the bean bags you can use for hop scotch. Draw the squares then where the bag lands you hop to.

  2. It helps develop their gross and fine motor skills and coordination.  If you want to know games to play with those items, that is a whole itehr question in itself.

  3. by encouraging movement! Throwing beanbags in the air and catching - tossing back and forth - hula hoops are fun with the class all holding hands and then stepping through the hula hoop without letting go of hands - skipping rope can be held by the teacher straight, squiggly, limbo - so many ideas!

  4. you can do a number of things with these materials.   Bean bags can be used to develop a childs fine motor functions by grasping, holding, pinching.  You can also use all of the materials to create an obstacle course.  Students will need to carry the bean bag the whole time while jumping in and out of hula hoops and across the river (two jump ropes set up a couple of feet apart parallel.

  5. bean bags:  develop gross and fine motors skills through manipulation ( tossing, playing catch, manipulating, etc.)

hula hoops: develop core stregth and coordination.  The hoop can be swung around the hips or waist, or jumped through

skipping ropes: develops balance and coordination.  child learns to jump with both feet and with alternating feet, and develops greater level of speed.  Turn-taking can be taught as well

  6. By encouraging movement and play. Helps with balance, small and large muscle development. Even group play and co-operation. Also eye/hand coordination.
