How could someone go to school in another country for 1 year just because?

My friend lives in Vancouver BC, Canada and would like to come to Bellevue, Washington and go to school with me for his grade 11 year. He would be able to stay at my house for the entire time so that isn't an issue but what sorts of legal stuff would have to be done and how could i go around doing this?

I think all you would need to do is stuff like get a medical release signed by his parents, and probably notarized, so in case of illness or injury your friend can be treated.  You can call your school district and ask if there is anything special you need to do so your friend can go to school with you.  Some states require guardianship to enroll a student, some only require proof that the student lives in their boundaries.
