  1. Crown or tiara,it makes no difference. You don't just plonk a tiara on top of the head,it has to be placed and clipped and the hair done around it.We must, however, understand that it was, after all, just an american, who would not know about this. She is probably more used to snapping the president of her country spitting on the lawn as he was walking across it.Actually,if there is anyone to blame,it is the person or people that set up the photo shoot and getting an american to do it.I am not a religious person but,the expression"cast not thy pearls before swine" would seem to be wholly appropriate.

  2. i just found out it was all a mistake - it never happened. someone edited the film wrong to make it look as though this happened, and now everyone is wondering how? sounds like someone did it on purpose, they will probably lose their job for this. they had to apologise to the Queen.

Tom S - taxpayers do not pay for the Queen's lifestyle - she has her own money and i think she pays tax now as well, although she didn't used to. she is more than just a figurehead and not a toy.

  3. Yeah, that is pretty harsh. Its like telling someone else who's older then you to take their hat off because it dosnt look good or something.

  4. How dare the queen ask the taxpayers, especially from countries outside of Britain to pay for her pompous and extravagant lifestyle.

She is a toy and a figurehead. Yes the monarchy and Buckingham palace brings in tourist revenue, but why should a Canadian or Australian have to see the queen's portrait on their coins.

  5. It's not like she was asked to drop her knickers! Get a grip---

  6. It wasn't a crown, it was a tiara.

  7. I thought the look on her face was priceless!

  8. Hi,

I doubt if it was the crown she was wearing, more than likely just a tiara.

She was asked if she would mind removing it because it did not stand out enough to be visible against her official robes.

The Royal Crown in a large item and would defiantly have stood out.

    Skip

  9. It was certainly not a crown.  It was a tiara.  In fact, it was the 'Girls of Great Britain and Ireland' tiara, which was a gift from unmarried ladies in Great Britain and Ireland to Queen Mary (Queen Elizabeth's grandmother).

I don't think a tiara is necessarily easy to just remove, as there may possibly be pins of some sort holding it on.  And, one's hair is dressed in a certain manner if one is wearing a tiara.  It's not so simple as merely taking it off.

  10. the 'only' person that should be asking the Queen to take off her crown is the King so he can give her his special crown!☺

  11. like this, queen, would you take off your crown?

  12. The person who did the asking was 1) an American and 2) used to getting very influential people to do what she wanted.

She did not understand that asking the queen to take off her crown was anything other than say, asking paris hilton to put the dog down.  To Americans the queen's crown is just a really flashy hat.  To Britons, it is the world.

  13. Only an ignorant person would even think of saying it.

  14. when someone lacks decorum,he dares such an idiot act
