I missed a call on my home phone and dialled 1471 to see who had rang. I vaguely recognised the number and it took a few seconds to realise it was my own number!!! How spooky was that! lol

I've had the same thing happen when someone has sent a text message to my home phone. The system rings you up and a computerised voice says the message.

sometimes its just the woman from bt call minder. the 1571 thing which holds messages!
