How could we convert the entire world to Alternative Energy Sources?

Good question. Is it even possible? In the 80's I attended a world energy conference during the period that solar heating systems were all the rage and big subsidies were being offered. One paper presented showed that to just convert one state to complete solar heating would use up all the copper reserves in the world. Sometime good ideas are just not viable due to resource limitations.

Population growth is the root cause of all pollution and energy resource problems. Have we reached the limit?

For Lee - There are no "Dumb" people. 99% of us have the same brain capacity and can learn anything anyone can. Only ignorant people believe in the "Dumb/Smart" theory.

Get the politicians and Hollywood celebrities out of the discussion and let the market decide what the best energy source is.  This always works.

first of all we have to make people aware of the consequences and the fact that we have limited resources!

unless they are aware they wont care!

they have to learn to help others, maybe the people they dont know! that is eg. maybe their country has enough resources to survive a decade but mine doesnt so if they dont waste their surpluss then the surpluss can help us!(just an example!)

Encourage local production of whatever resource is most available. Start phasing out  the mega producers.
