It was a last minute decision. Rumors are that McCain was strongly considering Joe Lieberman or Mitt Romney but after Obama picked Biden instead of Hillary, he decided on Palin. (He also considered Hillary but she wouldn't switch parties).

Very much so. This clearly shows McCain is not the one making the decisions in his campaign or possible future administration. McCain is a puppet for the same people who brought America Bush I and II.

EDIT See even his own supporters admit that much. His staff, read handlers, met with her several times, he didn't even know who she was

It's very disturbing Perhaps the GOP is so arrogant that they can put up anybody and win. Or perhaps McCain was thinking with his gonads instead of his brain.

He didn't make his final decision until then.  His staff has been having private meetings with her for many weeks.  I've sure that Obama's choice was done pretty much the same way.

There were a few other female vp candidates on the ticket.  It just had to be a woman to try and nab Hillary fans.  What a sneaky way to go.   When is this country going to put its citizens first before government interests.   Everything is going down the tubes!
