How credible is the group on Ghost Hunters?

I find the program interesting, but I wonder how 'legit' a show on SciFi can be -- is it all for 'show' or is there really something behind the show (such as 'real' activity and investigation)

  1. What I find incredible, is this bunch of people running around and talking and saying,"Did you hear that?" so loud and often that the viewer can't hear a thing for themselves.  And what with the waving flashlights around and walking when everyone knows that you can hear and see better if you shut up and stand still and listen.

I also don't know why we need the dramatic music in the background on some of these shows.

I didn't need background music when I veiwed the North Carolina youtube clip of the highschool ghost.  Where are the Highschool Musical kids when you need them huh?

  2. the activity is real the stories are real everything is real u can even check out the website.

    http://www.scifi.com/ghosthunters/

  3. It is very legit. They attempt to debunk every one of the claims. A lot of the times they are successful. On many of the episodes, they don't capture anything. When they do capture something, they still try every way to disprove it. They do this hobby to help people. Their day job is being plumbers for Roto Rooter, so they don't get paid that much for doing the show. The investigations are done for free, but Scifi probably pays them of course. However, they must not pay them that much for them to be plumbers. What's the point of wasting time (a lot of time) going over evidence and doing investigations for no money? Because they want to help people. They are legit.

  4. They are one of the most legit groups out there. They attempt to debunk a haunting verses saying everything they investigate is haunted. Many of their investigations, they claim to find nothing, or so little proof they can't say it is haunted. The group I am a part of tries to use the same method. We need a lot of proof, not just a few pics of orbs or a few strange sounds.

  5. If you are a seasoned viewer, you should know that they don't always catch something on film, video, or voice recorded.

Do you remember crooked teeth Brian Harnois? After he was fired, he had made statements to the fact that some of the findings were staged. But then again, he was let go and it wasn't on the best of terms with Jay or Grant.

I'm sure they have embellished a story or two to keep the ratings.

But at least they aren't as blatantly dishonest like the producers of Most Haunted.

  6. ive watched ,and i own every episode of ghost hunters, ive also had the pleasure of meeting Grant and Jason @ Waverly Hills in Louisville Kentucky, they seem to me to be very honest about their work,at least they dont find something everywhere they go or get possesed  have to be carried out like some so called Derricks ....i mean investigators.

  7. I'm skeptical of anything on TV.Extra skeptical about ghosts and things. Here's an article about them.

  8. I think curlysimmer nailed it. They've done some interesting things, but as a viewer, it's hard to tell. None of the guys themselves are scientists, but they at least appear to try and take a somewhat strict approach to their investigations. The problem is the music, the producers of the show must be complete idiots. The investigators would also do well to talk less and listen more.
