Question:

How dangerous is Al Asad Air Base in Iraq?

Last tour my husband was in Kuwait but doing missions through Iraq. Now he is being stationed at Al Asad which I hear is a bit safer. I am sure he will be volunteering for missions again, but is the base that he is stationed at relatively safe? I can't really find any instances via Yahoo about the base itself being attacked which is pretty reassuring but I am not sure if I am missing something.

  1. About as safe as any base in Iraq could ever be. It is nice and well built up. I was there last year and the year before on a few visits (I was in Ramadi, the opposite in safety lol). It was better than my second duty station here in the States (Dugway, Utah) back in 1990.

And type in: Al Asad on wikipedia for more

Thank your husband for his service and your support.
