Question:

How dangerous is my vicodin usage?

I take vicodin only for the euphoric feeling.I cannot claim to take it for any pain.I always take about three every day. That is, 2 at once, then usually 1 more an hour later from that to accomplsh the high I get. This has been going on for roughly 2 years straight on.I've experienced stomach pain, and layed off for a couple of weeks recently.I've started the same pattern again and now I'm experiencing a problem with my breathing. I'm not sure if it's linked to this or something else. All I know is that when I breathe in and out, it feels like I've ran a long distance, and it hurts to exercise or do anything strenuous.I've been living in a moldy environment, so I think that may contribute also. I was told that taking 3 a day can't really do too much harm, but I want to know for sure.I'm about 5 foot 6 and weigh roughly 120 lbs.Even though I'm not allowing that much acetaminophen in my system at one time, can the toxins slowly buld up in my system anyway?I need a detailed answer as soon as possible.I am concerned. The reason I insist on taking vicodin everyday is for better social interaction.I opwn up in ways that I never can on a normal basis.Vicodin also gives me lots of energy. My energy level is always rediclously low otherwise, and I never get anything done. Please let me knnow if I am damaging myself by doing this

  1. yes....you have developed a mild addiction...breathing  difficulties can be atributed to the drug. laying off for a few week,s is not long enough..eventually you will start to feel all the ache,s & pain the drug covered up & as high [euphoric] as you felt is as low [ miserable] as you will feel during rehab..not to mention the damage you are causing to your liver & kidney,s ...stomach damage also...for as long as you have been dependant you will feel the opposite effect [ low self esteem, low energy ache,s & pain,& general discomfort]..your best bet is to see a doctor & check into rehab..they will help you recover much faster & address your energy & confidence problem...good luck!...by the way...you will really have to want to do this . other wise you,ll be decieving your self.

  2. I hope this don't offend you but are you addicted to them? Someone I know is addicted to hydrocodone She says she uses them to cope with things. She says they also give her lots of energy.I think you are damaging yourself with them.If you are not taking it for pain you do not need it.

  3. Which dosage are they - the 5/500 mg? 7.5/750? or 10/325?? This will help us out

  4. If you have social interaction issues, treating yourself with pain medication is wrong.  You are definitely abusing drugs.

If you need help with social interactions, then get the proper treatment and drugs to help you get over that. It sounds like your baseline is introverted and depressed, and you probably are anxious as well in social interactions.

After two years of taking them, I'd say that you are physically dependent and emotionally dependent=you are an addict.

Most addicts start taking drugs for a variety or reasons, but the real reason is that they can't handle reality without some kind of crutch- and that crutch then takes over their lives.  Get some help now for the drug abuse and the social interaction issues.

Trust me, once addicted, even after you are clean and sober, your addiction is like a 500 pound gorilla living outside your door, just waiting for you to trip up  and use again.

  5. Yes you are doing damage especially to your liver.

Not to mention the fact that you can become addicted to them. I understand they make you feel more confident and less frightened in social situations but this is a bad path to follow. Many addicts started out exactlly like you.You are the master of your own destiny, you are letting a pill ruin your health and possibly your future.

See a doctor to get help.
