I am getting my windows tinted very soon, and I wanted to see if there was someone out there with any knowledge on how hard it is too see out of at night, on any tint. I want to get the darkest possible, but I dont want to have to roll down my windows to make a turn. Thanks in advance.

  1. ITS BEST IF YOU CONTACT YOUR LOCAL (DMV) DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.

  2. It depends on the rules of what state you live in

  3. I'm a huge fan of %20 window film, its light enough it doesnt mess up your vision ( its the same percentage as factory tint on an suv or truck).  It has a nice charcaol(black) look to it.  and its light enough people can still see in so half of the police officers wouldnt know it is illegal unless they put a meter on it.

Any kind of window tint will slightly hender your vision, %15 is kind of overdoing it in my book and %5 you will definitly have to roll down a window...

With %20 (if you have good reverse lights) you should have absolutely no problems in seeing out of it.

%20 will be illegal most likely in your state, but your a lot less likely to get pulled over with it because people can still see in.

I tint windows for a living and i've been doing it for two years

%20 is the way to go.

If your worried about the lawman... well check your state law and stick with it... The legal limit will do nearly the same amount of work for you, but it doesnt add much spice to the look of your vehicle.

  4. I say the darker the better, but many cities have laws against a certain amount of tint.  My town outlawed anything more than 65% tint, so you'll want to check on that, or take a chance of getting a ticket.

  5. Check http://www.tintlaws.com for your state. .

    BUT

Visibility at night depends upon not only the visible light transmission but the interior reflectivity of the film.  You would perhaps be surprised that age plays a factor in this as well since studies do indicate that 35% VLT is fine for younger drivers but can create issues at night for senior citizens.

The best choice IMO is a non reflective ceramic type film that has excellent heat rejection but wont interfere with your vision. If you are younger and it's legal go for a 15-25% ceramic film on the back and a 28%-35% on the driver and front passenger windows.

Check FormulaOne Pinnacle Film at http://www.formulaone.com

  6. it mostly depends on the state you live in ,but 35% is legal in all states, thats as dark as you can go though, good luck, and have a  good new years.

  7. you can never get window tint dark enough,   if your putting it on your rear windows i would go with at least 5%.   but for drivers and passenger window i would not go below 35 you could get into an accident
