  1. We are also getting a swimming pool within the next few weeks (we live just outside of Louisville).

My husband called our insurance agent to ask if it was required to have a fence. Allstate does require a fence enclosing the entire pool in order to pay any unfortunate accident.

We were going to get a fence regaurdless however, it

still does not protect you from fence jumping tresspassers who could get injured in your pool without your permission to be there and sue you.

There is fencing which attatches directly to the top sides of the pool (metal walled).

    Happy swimming!!!

  2. Check with the city clerk office in your town. They should be able to explain any questions you have about swimming pool rules.

  3. I would not trust an anonymous answer from this forum, but I would call my insurance agent in the morning.

You can be sued for any reason, permission or not, again, this is a question for your insurance agent since he/she will be the one to defend you should something happen.
