How deep does a cut have ta be?

don't ask why but I'm trying to get a scar. how deep would it have to be? just until it bleeds? or more? or less? and i want the scar to,yes,be permanent. and will it scar if its on my chest or will it heal perfectly there

I don't suggest self harming, I really don't.

You could end up hurting yourself seriously or end up with infections and such.

It'd have to be about a finger nail depth to actually create a scar, and it really does depend on what you use.

But seriously, why would you like to do this, get a tattoo or something, scars will never leave you.
