How deep is beach water?

i dont go to the beach often so this summer i plan to. but im just curious how deep the water is or gets, in general.

some beaches get deep quickly, where as some beaches are quite shallow untill a long way out, sometimes us to a kilometre.

the ocean in general? gets to about 100000km deep. but i doubt youd be swimming around there.

every beach is different. If you don't know how to swim you probably shouldn't be messing around in the ocean to begin with. If you do walk out and find its getting too deep for you, just walk back out. I'm guessing you either don't know how to swim, or are not a strong swimmer. If that is the case be sure there is someone with you.

It depends on where you are on the beach.  If you go to a beach with a lifeguard, ask the lifeguard.  You also have to be careful of sudden dropoffs, you can be in shallow water one second, take one step and be in over your head.

well if u are on a sandbar it wont go  past your waist.

if u cant swim just when u get to about your waist stop going out

i just got back from the beach and it doesnt start getting chest high until like 20-30 feet out.
