How deep is the canals in Venice??

I wanted to know...because no one ever told me an anwser.

I did see a house renovation there, they put a wall around the house and drained the water out, it was about 60-70 cm the most.

some of the canals are 5 to 6 feet..other are 3 to 4 feet.

the grand canal can reach 9  12 feet
