  1. The pool is 9feet deep and this is the deepest pool in olympic history, in the past they have all been 6 feet.

  2. its atleast 10 feet deep .  most of the big compitition pools are deep like that

  3. The depth of the swimming pool (the one the competitive swimmers use) at the Beijing "Water Cube" is 3 meters (nearly 10 feet).

The depth of the diving well (the one the competitive divers use) at the Beijing "Water Cube" is 13 meters (over 40 feet - which is overkill if you ask me).

I couldn't find the original (and official web site) that I found with the dimensions on it but I've listed the most recent one I found below. I'm a little skeptical about it's accuracy though. It mentions this is the deepest Olympic pool ever by over 3 feet when that's not accurate. The required depth of an Olympic Size pool is 2 meters but the Olympics hasn't been swum in a pool of this depth since before Munich. In fact the games of LA and Atlanta were swum in pools that were this deep or deeper (Atlanta's pool, similar to the one in Federal Way Washington, actually had a 'moveable' floor that could be raised or lowered).

3 meters will probably remain the standard because if it's too deep you lose your sense of vision and where you're at in the pool. But it's just deep enough to where the waves dissipate (and) the turbulence dissipates down to the bottom."

I hope this helps as many of the answers I see posted here are guesses at best and inaccurate at worst.

    Enjoy!

  4. the olympic pool in beijing is 3 meters deep

which turns out to be the best deepness for competitive swimming
