How deep should the ground pole be next to the power box?

need to put a ground pole next to the house becuse it was buildt in 1950 old codes. need to ground home.

  3. depending what code and state/province canada Ont. a ground plate is now required old code was two 6 ft six feet apart or one 10 foot. usa code I do not know

  10. Most ground rods you get are 8 to 10 feet long. Unless you live in a really dry area...8 feet is deep enough. The ground rod needs to go down to what they call ' the perma-moist'...at the depth ( usually 6 ft ) where the dirt never dries out...that way you get a good ground.
