Question:

How despicable can AGW true believers be? Check Planet Slayer?

The Aussie Broadcasting Company has a website to frighten kids and make them feel guilty for not being green enough. That isn't all. It's not just guilt, it asks questions which then are used to calculate at what age the kid should die, based on how badly he emits CO2. I know, it sounds like I'm kidding, so click the link and see for yourself. Then tell me - how low will they sink in order to advance a very extremist agenda?

  1. It doesn't sound like you're kidding, it sounds like a joke... and it is.  And kids will get the joke and think it's hilarious, then forward it to their friends.  Viral marketing.

Technically it calculates when a person uses up their share of our collective global resources.  Food for thought perhaps?

Is is offensive?  No more than South Park, Monthy Python or Saturday Night Live.

Does it work?  Well, it got you to publicize it, didn't it?

  2. I'm teaching my kids... Earth First and we'll strip mine the other planets later!!! LOL

  3. yeah so??? kids play violent video games and watch all sorts of horror movies where people get cut to pieces....this is just not new besides no intelligent man of science would use that to horrify people it could be one of those non AGW believers....who knows......

  4. sick isn't it

  5. Did you actually look at that site, or make your conclusion based on one glance?  That site is not for kids any more than Family Guy or the Simpsons.

This video series, from that same website, makes fun of environmentalists.

  6. Global warming is only about money and power for its creators.

They do not care who they hurt, or how much.

  7. Brainwashing the children is a common propaganda tactic for dishonest people whose ideas have little credibility among thinking adults.  There are some good books that address this phenomenon of scaring the youth with propaganda:

    "Facts Not Fear"

    "The Skeptical Environmentalist"

    "Hard Green"

It is sad that so many young people are not taught the positive things that are going on in the world, such as how much less pollution there is today than during the 1970's, how much higher our life expectancy is now than it was one century ago, etc.

  8. The ABC  has been making gloom and doom p**n and making predictions of environmental disasters for as long as I can remember.  None of these predictions has come true.

I think kids will grow up believing that the earth is comming to an end.  In 20 years time they will realise that was a complete load of nonsense.

  9. No intelligent person would think that site is for kids.  The big way way save yourself is through big donations.  Kids don't make donations.  The problem here is that some people can't think.

  10. Geez get over yourself.  Who cares?  Kids play video games where they run people over in cars, gun them down in cold blood, etc. etc.  So a website tells them when they 'should die' based on how much they consume.  Big freaking deal.

  11. J S, I'm impressed. You have become much more level headed. What happened?

  12. I have checked this out and you are not at all getting the Australian mindset!  It's not despicable, it's just not sanitized the way everything is here in America.  It engages the young adult, a la South Park.

It's like anything else.  If the site doesn't work for you, don't use it.  But don't slam it and call names and sling accusations because it's not your cup of tea.

Way too serious on this one, jeez.

Some more conventional sites in case you are actually looking for one to recommend to a child.
