Innocent people have to start dying at the hands of the government before the average person will even bat an eye.  Sad but true.

Destructive and inefficient enough for the average person to feel that the alternative is not going to produce something even worse.

Ever notice how the people who think that everything needs to be changed are rather vague as to exactly what they want to replace it with?
